A stonemason’s sample stone, roughly shaped, bearing the inscription: "STOWMARKET JOHN HOPSON 1234567890 STONEMASON." These examples were created to demonstrate the mason’s skill to potential clients before commissioning a headstone. This particular piece is weathered, with chipped corners, resulting in the loss of the "T" in "STOWMARKET."
