A Victorian fireplace fender. Often called cottage fenders, these were commonly used in front of cooking ranges. This particular fender has an adjustable bar designed to accommodate pots and pans of various sizes, keeping them warm in front of the range. It also features a circular plate detail, ideal for resting a kettle or warming an iron. The fender is constructed of wrought iron with simple large rivet details to the front.

This item is in good condition for its age. There may be some slight wear and tear, but this is to be expected and does not detract from the overall appearance of the item.
