A heavy iron gate with decorative finials. This is a one-of-a-kind piece, not a mass-produced item. The construction suggests it was made for a specific entrance then altered over time. The mix of components gives it strong character. The finials along the lower edge stand out. This is an unusual detail, and they appear to have been salvaged from an earlier gate or railing and fixed into this frame during a later modification. The result is a gate with clear age, purpose and individuality. Surface wear and historic paint layers are present.
