A salt glazed trough planter with a slight forward angle, the back sitting higher than the front. A small drainage hole is set into the base. A maker’s stamp from Oats and Green Halifax sits on the front lip. Oates and Green operated in nineteenth-century Halifax, producing bricks, terracotta pieces, and stoneware troughs. This example shows the practical form typical of their work. The glaze shows wear, marks, and small chips expected on a reclaimed piece. Please see the listing images to gauge condition.
